What is your favorite part of your job?

The most satisfying thing is watching someone’s face when they try a Buckabee brownie.

If you could explain your business in the most simple way, how would you?

A bakery for brownies that are handcrafted with the perfect balance of nostalgic and new flavors.

What is your biggest baking fail?

Moving from our home oven to our commercial oven. We went through 50 failed attempts of our chocolate chip blondie after realizing that convection ovens are not the right ovens for baking blondies and brownies. After 3 different commercial ovens, we finally found the right commercial oven!

What was the inspiration behind the business?

We were both working full-time corporate jobs and wanted to make a change. We made brownies one night for a party and they were a huge hit. We’d wanted to start our own business, and had the realization that brownies were the perfect idea.

What is the key to your success?

Working together as a team and taking chances.

Do you or your business donate to any charities? Which ones? Why?

We are donating a portion of our proceeds on March 13th to Operation Give Back. We believe in their mission to help, support and care for the at-risk youth in our local community. As a Sycamore alumnus and as parents whose children will attend Sycamore, helping children who are less fortunate than ours is not even a question. We also support Cincinnati Public Radio and Cincinnati Public Television as we do not go a day without listening to the radio and watching Daniel Tiger.

What is one of your favorite quotes?

One good brownie deserves another and another and another and another.

Best advice anyone has given you?

From my mother: Trust your gut.

Describe yourself in three words.

Caring, inventive and ambitious.

What is your favorite part about being a member of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce?

Feeling like we are part of a family. Everyone in the Chamber is so helpful and goes out of their way to help you succeed. It was also so heartwarming that Carol came to our Grand Opening Day!

What is your favorite hangout spot in Cincinnati?

As parents of two young children, we love the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

Do you have any hobbies or activities of interest? What are they?

Watching the English Premier League and traveling

What is your favorite Cincinnati Area Sports Team?

FC Cincinnati as we are a soccer-loving family!
